Conference interpreting for Dell, Dell@Retail in Austin – Bilingva

Bilingva provided conference interpreting services in several languages: Spanish, Portuguese (Brazilian), Chinese (Mandarin) and Indonesian for Dell@Retail conference in the world famous Austin City Limits at the Moody Theater. In addition to conference interpreting in the requested languages, English was also broadcast as pass-through. This allowed the organizers to create a setting with an intimate fire chat conversation with Dell CEO and other presenters, while the rest of the attendees were free to explore the expo space and get familiar with the latest Dell products, while listening to the stage broadcast both in English as well as their native language translated in real time.

This is the third year Bilingva is providing interpreting services for this signature Dell event, and each year the number of attendees is growing. To streamline the process of picking up a receiver and setting to the right channel, the channel numbers were broadcast on stage prior to the start of each session, and a designated team was handing out the handsets already preset – at a designated desk to the side of the stage.

The stage setup in ACL Live is unique, and so Bilingva event planning team worked with the event organizers to carefully plan the location of translation booths, interpreter setup – line of sight visibility to the stage and monitor feed if necessary, placement of transmitters and making sure there was adequate coverage anywhere in the space.
